introduction

over the past few months i've been dealing with increasingly bad hyperacusis in my left ear. hyperacusis is a sensory processing disorder characterized by increased sensitivity to sound. in my case the symptoms have included

-- cottony / burning feeling behind ear (paresthesis)
-- feeling of fullness in ear
-- crackling sensation in ear, especially with high pitched sounds
-- sensitive protective muscle reflexes (pounding, thudding) in ear
-- tinnitus, sometimes loud
-- disorientation due to sensory
-- anxiety and aversion to sound

the reason i'm writing this blog is that the last item - anxiety and aversion to sound - is getting generally worse - and i think that writing some things out will help.

the other reason is that i agreed to track inputs and outputs to see if there is something i am doing that affects my symptoms.

so here goes. wish me luck...
